Paloma Picasso (née en 1949) en quelques mots | in few words :

Anne Paloma Ruiz Picasso y Gilot, mieux connue sous le patronyme de Paloma Picasso, est née le 19 avril 1949 à Paris. Elle est la plus jeune enfant de Pablo Picasso et de Françoise Gilot, peintre et auteure. A Paris, en 1968, elle débute une carrière dans la fabrication de bijoux. Encouragée par le succès de ses colliers, elle présente ses œuvres à son ami Yves Saint Laurent qui l'engage aussitôt pour créer une collection d'accessoires pour sa marque. En 1971, elle travaille pour le joaillier grec Zolotas. Elle quitte ensuite Paris pour rejoindre Tiffany à New York, et y gérer les collections. C'est à cette époque que son sens esthétique et créatif le conduit à concevoir ses premiers parfums. Depuis l'enfance, Paloma Picasso s'est toujours intéressée aux bijoux, à les concevoir ou à les porter. Elle puise son inspiration dans son environnement immédiat, des objets de différentes textures, couleurs et formes. Au début de sa carrière, elle était fascinée par les graffitis, les symboles et les gribouillis. Très attirée par la couleur, elle s'inspire également des formes sensuelles audacieuses. Les œuvres de Paloma Picasso sont exposées en permanence dans deux musées aux États-Unis, le National Field Museum of Natural History de Chicago et le National Museum of Natural History de la Smithsonian Institution à Washington.

Anne Paloma Ruiz Picasso y Gilot, better known by the surname of Paloma Picasso, was born on April 19, 1949 in Paris. She is the youngest child of Pablo Picasso and Françoise Gilot, painter and writer. In Paris, in 1968, she began her jewelry making career. Encouraged by the success of her necklaces, she presented her works to her friend Yves Saint Laurent who immediately hired her to create a collection of accessories for his brand. In 1971, she worked for the Greek jeweler Zolotas. Then, she left Paris to join Tiffany in New York, and manage their collections. It was at this time that her aesthetic and creative sense led her to the design of the first Paloma Picasso perfumes. From childhood, Paloma Picasso has always been interested in jewelry, designing it or wearing it. She draws her inspiration from her immediate environment, objects of different textures, colors and shapes. In the early days of her career, she was fascinated by graffiti, symbols and scribbles. Very drawn to color, she is also inspired by daring sensual shapes. Paloma Picasso's works are on permanent display in two museums in the United States, the National Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago and the National Museum of Natural History at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington.
